CLIENT AGRO-SERVE LAUNCHES OUR NEW DIY TIMBER TREATMENT

Dolphin Bay has reached an agreement with our client Agro-Serve for our latest DIY product to be sold at retail stores across South Africa.

Agro-Serve will make the product available within the garden and home market. It will be marketed as Efekto PWP Wood Pro from the end of June 2022 and will be available at DIY and other hardware outlets nationwide.

“This is a new product line for Dolphin Bay, which we have registered for DIY purposes,” said Bertus. “It is a copper-based wood preservative intended for consumers who want to preserve untreated timber for use indoors or outdoors.”

Efekto PWP Wood Pro provides a surface coating that penetrates about 1mm into the wood. It offers protection against fungal decay, termites, and wood-boring insects. It also removes infestation and fungus from timber, prolonging the lifespan of the wood.

 

“This product is not a replacement for industrial timber preservatives, but you’re certainly much better off using it than without it.”

 

Its efficacy naturally depends on its application, with at least two or three coats recommended to ensure proper coverage. “This product is not a replacement for industrial timber preservatives, but for home and garden use you’re certainly much better off using it than without it,” Bertus said.

Agro-Serve’s retail brands include Efekto and Wonder, each of which has a specific purpose in consumers’ homes. “While Wonder creates beauty through plant nutrition, Efekto focuses on the protection of gardens and homes from common, everyday pests that can create damage,” explained Caryn van der Westhuizen, Agro-Serve Marketing Manager.

Agro-Serve distributes a range of licensed brands from local and international companies and has a longstanding relationship with Dolphin Bay.

“This new product has been in the pipeline for many years,” said Caryn. “Our previous Dolphin Bay product was very popular, and we’ve had requests for it from consumers. We had to ask them to hang tight for the new one – and now it’s finally here!

“Dolphin Bay is excited to partner with Agro-Serve once again,” said Bertus. “We have high expectations of this project and for our future collaboration.”
